A Little Bit of This and A Little Bit of That

Spring has sprung in our area.  Our cool days are fewer and fewer apart.  HURRAY!!!

Our phlox has just about finished blooming

Our tulips have just about finished blooming

Our irises will soon be blooming and it is time to plant the annuals.  The grass is turning green and once again time to mow.  One of my least favorite things to do, but it must be done.

We went junking, antiquing, last weekend.  My hubby found a box of things and everything in the box was marked $1.00.  My kind of box.  I found this blue granite pan.  Being a sucker for blue, I grabbed it up.100_1296 100_1298

I put a battery operated tea light in it at night and it is cute all lit up.  The next thing I found for only $3.00 was this little crock container with a blue stripe.  Also being a sucker for any type of pottery or crocks, I had to have it too.

I put it in one of my bathrooms with cotton balls in it until I decide to do something else, which probably won’t be long.  I like to move things around.

I have also started on a lap quilt.  How I got the fabric is a story in itself. Each time that our dog is groomed, he comes home with a bandana.  Being the person I am and like to re-purpose things, I have saved them all and laundered them and am putting them into a lap quilt.  These are just the first 2strips because work gets in the way of doing all of the things I want to do.

There will be many more colors than this.  The triangles are all different shapes so I am having to do some trimming and also some stretching of the fabric.

I want to thank each and every one of you who leave such sweet comments.  Thank you for visiting my blog, even though I don’t blog regularly.  It seems that things get in the way of me doing that.

I hope each and everyone of you has a very blessed and fulfilled week.

Blessings - Maxine

Hi Maxine~ Your phlox is just gorgeous and so are your tulips. It's cold and rainy here today so the pictures of your flowers warmed my heart with a smile. :)
Your new found treasures are nice and such good deals!
What a great idea using the scarfs that your pooch comes home with to make a quilt. It will serve double purpose when it keeps you warm with lots of loving memories.
Hugs to you~ Birgit

Hey Maxine! Your phlox & tulips are just beautiful. My Mama loved her phlox. I can't get them to grow at my house.
Love your finds too! And I think its neat that you are making a quilt out of your dog's hankercheifs! What a cute idea! Our dog used to come home with one after every grooming too, but she would chew them up before we could take them off! LOL!
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Your spring flowers are just beautiful, and what a lovely blanket your phlox makes.
You never know what treasures are waiting to be discovered. The little crock is wonderful.

Your bloomers are just beautiful!!! What a cool idea for a quilt and I just love that little crock. You've been a busy little bee this week. I just mowed my acre of yard today in 49-50 mph wind! I know a bit crazy, right!!! Well, it's Thursday and I always mow on Thursday, besides...I like my grass even. I'm twisted (sick) like that!

Ya'll have yourself a terrifically blessed day!!!
