Our New Floor

We installed a new laminate floor in our breakfast area, kitchen and laundry room last weekend.  Kath, click on her name,  gave the name of the flooring that she used and so we went and got some samples and oh, is it ever beautiful.  Thanks Kath for the information.  Here are a few random shots from the beginning to the partial finish before everything is put back together.
100_1093 Just beginning.  We are finally getting rid of our ugly white ceramic tile.  I could no longer keep it clean.  One thing I don’t like is a dirty floor.
100_1095 We’re getting there.  Look at the mess on  the countertop and the fridge in the background.  Oh, but it will be worth it.

We’re just about done, all we lack is the trim.  The appliances have all been put back in their places.  How does all of that dirt get underneath things, like the dishwasher?

Here it is with all of the trim put on.  It is so pretty and makes our rooms look so much cleaner and put together.

I would like to get some new rugs since we have had these for ever.  I will have to look at my budget first.  I think the floors turned out great.
Now, guess what we have today, one inch of ice with about 12 inches of snow on top of that.  Here is a picture of the parking lot at work.

This is ice, no snow yet.  This came last night and early this morning.  This is one reason it is so difficult to drive here because we have so much ice underneath our snow.  Here are some more pictures of the  ice.

When I left work today, the snow had already begun to fall and it looked like we were in a snow globe while we were inside, but once we got outside, it was a different story.   If it keeps this up, we will have to get warmer clothes.  This is one of the coldest and snowiest winters I can remember.
This is another weekend and everyone stay warm and cozy and have a very safe weekend.

It looks wonderful Maxine :)
Did you guys have problems installing it? So nice that it can go right over your existing flooring - no mess - that's a huge bonus! What color did you go with? it looks a lot lighter than ours...oh, but so very nice and perfect in your home! :)
What a difference it makes in the room(s).

Maxine your floors look great! We put laminate wood in our family room, and I love it!
Hope you are staying warm and dry.
We got about 5" snow last night, which is plenty for us here in Kentucky! ;-)

Maxine, I absolutely love your new flooring!! I have carpeting throughout our home, and would love to have wood flooring like you have instead.. It looks really beautiful!!

We live close by to Moore.. It is soo neat to have met a person who visits my blog, and who also used to live close by to my area too!

We'll have to keep in touch, and one of those times that you come this way for a visit, maybe we could meet each other! That'd be great!!

I really enjoy reading and visiting your blog too Maxine! I will come back and visit you again!

Blessings,
~Lynn

Oh, I love your new floors! What a blessing! That's what I want to do with our kitchen & livingroom. And possibly the bathrooms! LOL! I just love the look of wood. And I too, cannot stand dirty floors. I am pretty much obsessed about keeping them clean.
Be careful and stay safe & warm in that ice. I hate when we get it like that.
Have a great week!

Your new floor looks great. You will love it. We have that in our kitchen and our walls are painted the same color.
We had the most snow that we have had in years and they are calling for freezing rain tomorrow morning and another storm this coming weekend.
Be careful!
Love,
Marie

You got alot of snow! Wow! Ours is almost completely gone now...just on our sidewalks. I don't care for the ice. Colt fell and has a black eye now...poor kid. He looks like he got beat up! lol!

Have a great day and thanks for the birthday wishes for Joy!

The floor looks wonderful! I love it! You went right over the ceramic tiles with it?? I have ceramic tiles in our kitchen and would love to do something like this especially if it can go right over the tiles... easy peasy!
Stay warm my friend. Spring is on it's way.
